Grants for stairlifts
If you are concerned about being able to afford a stairlift you may be able to apply for a grant from your local authority called a Disabled Facilities Grant. If you are eligible your local council may be able to help towards the cost of installing your stairlift and adapting your home. The grant is means tested and awarded when the council considers that necessary changes to your home will improve your living environment and make life easier. Visit the Direct.Gov website to find out more information about eligibility and the types of adaptations available to you. Alternatively, contact your local authority for more information.
